'Bridgerton' Star Simone Ashley's Scenes Mostly Cut from Brad Pitt's 'F1' Movie
Bad news for fans of popular 'Bridgerton' star Simone Ashley. Most of her scenes have been cut from the upcoming Formula 1 (F1) racing film starring Brad Pitt. Director Joseph Kosinski confirmed this development.
News of Simone Ashley joining the film emerged in July 2024, and she was expected to appear alongside Brad Pitt and Damson Idris in the high-octane Formula 1 racing drama. She was seen on set at the time and even spoke about the 'crazy' experience. However, it is now known that her character will be almost non-existent in the final cut of the film. While she may make a fleeting appearance on screen, she will have no dialogue.
In an interview with People magazine, director Joseph Kosinski explained why Ashley's role had to be reduced. He stated, "It happens in every film where you have to shoot more than you can possibly use. There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make the final cut."
Kosinski further praised Simone Ashley, saying, "Simone, she's an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again."
Simone Ashley herself had previously mentioned in an interview with ELLE magazine that she had a "very small role" in the film, but she was "grateful" to be a part of it. She described the F1 movie shooting experience as "insane" and commented, "I got to enjoy many Grand Prix. I don't think I'll ever do anything like it again."
The 'F1' film is set to be released worldwide on June 27. Brad Pitt portrays 'Sonny Hayes,' a former Formula 1 driver attempting a comeback and mentoring the young talented Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). Fans of Simone Ashley have expressed their disappointment on social media regarding the cutting of her scenes.
