DHAKA, June 2 2021 - Bangladesh Student Federation has given a memorandum to the government's education adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, demanding a total of 5 points, including the formation of the Education Reform Commission. They handed over the memorandum to the National Sports Council's office on Sunday (June 5th) at the National Sports Council office.
The Student Federation has raised these demands to eliminate existing discrimination at all levels of education and introduce time -consuming and science -based education system. One of their main demands is the formation of a permanent and effective education reform commission, which will modernize the education of Bangladesh by making long -term planning and policies.
President Mashiur Rahman Khan and general secretary Rafiqul Islam were present on behalf of the student federation during the transfer of memorandum. They highlighted their demands to the education adviser and emphasized the implementation of it immediately.
Some of the 5 points raised by the Student Federation are some of the most important issues:
Formation of Education Reform Commission: Creating an Education Reform Commission formed with an independent and expert committee, which will identify all levels of education and guide the solution.
Increase in education: To ensure a minimum of 20 percent of the national budget in the education sector or 5 percent of GDP.
Curriculum -based and science -based curriculum: To form a science -based, secular and creative curriculum in harmony with the modern world, which will reduce the vocabulary dependence of the students.
Coaching and Private Trade Closed: To ensure quality education in educational institutions by stopping the commercialization of coaching centers and private teaching.
Recruitment and Training of Teachers: Appoint qualified teachers and arrange their regular training, so that they are proficient in the modern teaching system. Increase the attraction of the profession by increasing the salaries and facilities of teachers.
Democratic Campus Environment: To ensure a democratic environment in educational institutions, to regularly hold elections to the student parliament and give students the opportunity to express independent views.
Preventing Question Paper Leak: To take strict action to stop all irregularities and corruption, including leakage of question papers.
Security in the educational institutions: To ensure the safety of the students, take effective measures to prevent sexual harassment and ragging.
Healthy environment: To ensure cleaning and healthy environment in educational institutions.
Availability of educational materials: To ensure the availability of educational materials and books for all students.
Expansion of Digital Education System: To strengthen online education activities by increasing the use of digital technology.
Education Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan took the memorandum from the leaders of the Student Federation and assured them of their demands seriously. "The government is committed to the development of education system. We will review your proposals and try to implement its logical issues," he said.
Leaders of the Student Federation have hoped that the initiative will bring about positive change in the country's education system.
