Three shops were burnt to ashes in a terrible fire in the Ambagh Lalghat Bridge area under Konabari police station in Gazipur. At the same time, several birds in a cage of pet birds inside a garment training center also died in the fire. This incident caused extensive damage to the area and spread panic among the common people.

The fire broke out on Tuesday (June 10, 2025) night. After receiving information from the locals, multiple units of the Fire Service quickly reached the spot. They tried for about an hour and a half to bring the fire under control.

According to local sources, the fire first started in a jhut warehouse. Then the fire spread to the surrounding shops within a moment. The birds in the cage of pet birds inside the garment training center did not get a chance to be taken out and they also died in the fire.

The Fire Service could not initially say the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage. However, it is believed that the fire may have started from an electrical short circuit. Although no casualties were reported in the incident, the concerned officials said that there was a huge financial loss.

This incident has once again raised questions about the safety of the unplanned jhut warehouses and shops in Gazipur. Locals have often complained about the lack of fire extinguishing systems in these warehouses.
