| Preparations for the World Test Championship final between South Africa and Australia at Lord's Cricket Ground—scenes of players from both teams practicing. |
Former Proteas captain AB de Villiers is optimistic about South Africa's chances of winning the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia. He feels the current South African team is balanced and has the ability to beat Australia.
"This is a huge moment for South African cricket—the final at Lord's. The whole country will be behind our team, and hopefully we can achieve success," said de Villiers. "I am excited for the challenge. It is a balanced team, and I am quietly confident that we can beat Australia—I say 'doom' because they are clearly the favourites for this final."
Describing Australia as an "experienced and well-organised team", de Villiers admitted that it will not be easy for South Africa. But he said, "We are bringing a lot of in-form players and big-hearted guys who are ready to prove something on this stage."
For many of the South African players, this will be their first match at Lord's, which could be a challenge. De Villiers hopes they can adapt quickly and give their best in the final.
