Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh General Secretary Saiful Haque has expressed optimism about the meeting held in London between Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, and Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of BNP. He believes that this meeting will be helpful in removing the ongoing atmosphere of distrust and mistrust in the country and will smooth the path for the government's honorable exit.
At a press conference today (Saturday, June 14, 2025), Saiful Haque said, "This meeting in London can play an important role in resolving the political crisis in Bangladesh. This meeting will help break the wall of distrust and mistrust that has been going on for a long time." He added that if these discussions are successful, a path for a honorable exit can be prepared for the current government through a fair and impartial election.
A 'one-to-one' meeting between Dr. Yunus and Tarique Rahman was held yesterday (Friday, June 13, 2025) at the Dorchester on Park Lane Hotel in London. The meeting is being seen as a milestone in determining the political future of Bangladesh. Although the detailed results of the meeting have not yet been released, political analysts are seeing it as a positive aspect.
Saiful Haque repeatedly emphasized a universally acceptable election and democratic process in his speech. He said that the people of the country want a peaceful and stable political environment, where their right to vote will be ensured.
