Dhaka, June 2, 2025 – Good news for candidates who passed the 44th BCS examination but were not recommended for cadre posts! Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has now invited their preferences (options) for appointment to non-cadre posts. Through this step, another door has been opened for thousands of young people who did not get a chance for cadre posts to enter government service.

This information was given in a notification signed by Public Service Commission (PSC) Examination Controller (Cadre) Noor Ahmed on Monday (June 2). The notification said that the preferences are being sought from the candidates who have passed the final results of the 44th BCS but have not been recommended for cadre posts and are interested in being appointed to non-cadre posts.

Process and deadline for submitting preferences:

The notification mentioned that candidates interested in non-cadre posts will have to fill out their preferences online between June 13 and July 5. Detailed instructions regarding this can be found on the PSC website (www.bpsc.gov.bd). Candidates can choose various non-cadre posts based on their qualifications and preferences.

Why this initiative?

This process of recruitment to non-cadre posts has been launched to include meritorious candidates who have passed the BCS examination in government jobs. Through this, on the one hand, employment opportunities are created for a large number of successful candidates, and on the other hand, it is possible to fill vacant posts in various government departments quickly. In the 44th BCS, it was recommended to recruit about 2100 cadre posts. Apart from this, there were many vacant posts, which will be filled through this non-cadre process.

Importance of recruitment to non-cadre posts:

Employment of meritorious candidates: Thousands of candidates pass the written and oral exams in the BCS examination, but not everyone gets the opportunity due to the limited number of cadre posts. Non-cadre posts are a big opportunity for them to enter government jobs.

Filling manpower in government departments: There are many vacant posts in various ministries, departments and departments of the government. These posts can be filled quickly through non-cadre recruitment, which improves the quality of government services.

Time saving: Recruitment from among the BCS exam passers saves both time and money instead of organizing a separate recruitment test.

The PSC said that after submitting the list of candidates, the applications received will be scrutinized and final recommendations will be made based on merit. It is expected that this recruitment process will be completed very soon, which will end the long wait of the candidates participating in the 44th BCS exam.
